A Note to My Substack Subscribers
I am trying not to be annoying, but...
When I moved from Substack to WordPress earlier this year, I attempted to take all of you with me by exporting my Substack subscriber list and importing it into my new WordPress site.
I failed. Badly.
As a result, only a handful of you followed me over to my new home. When I say “handful” I mean that as of this morning, my WordPress site had 29 subscribers, but the Substack list had 290.
I only figured this out because my sister visited, and when I said something about Mightier Acorns, she commented, “Oh, yeah. I used to get emails from you. I thought you stopped doing that!”
When I dug into my Subscribers list to look for her, I realized my months-old mistake. So, I re-did the steps I thought I had done months ago. As of this morning, I have successfully exported your email addresses from Substack and imported you into WordPress.
What This Means for You
A number of you are new and subscribed to Mightier Acorns after I moved. (Welcome, cousins!) You might be dismayed to start receiving emails from me twice a week.
Of the long-time subscribers, some of you may have been relieved to stop receiving emails from me twice a week.
If you have been happy with monthly Substack updates and don’t want emails from me twice a week, you should be able to find a link to unsubscribe from within those emails. My feelings won’t be hurt.
If you don’t have a WordPress account or can’t figure out how to turn off email delivery from me, you can also leave a comment here, email my “mightieracorns” Gmail address, or use the Contact Form at mightieracorns.com to ask to be removed from the subscription list.
If you were sad to stop seeing my posts, but you hadn’t yet gone through the steps to sign up through WordPress, I hope you will enjoy what I have prepared for you through the holidays and into 2026.
And if you’d like to offer a more financial form of support, I have a link where you can “Buy me a coffee” or find my books to purchase here:
Whatever your preference is, I appreciate your interest in my family history writing, and I hope I can be of help or offer inspiration.
Enjoy your Holidays, cousin!

I actually like Wordpress and have an account already. But there is only so much time in a day.
