I have been skimming the posts about it and saying to myself "I need to do this!"

I feel like I need to devote some of my full attention to it.

I am hit or miss. The problem is that often if I am in a library, archive, etc. the log isn't with me. I also know that with more experience eyes (now vs 30 years ago) that I glean a lot more than I did then. I do not think it is the end of the world if you return to a source. Also, these days when I have researched and NOT found what I am looking for, I make a note specifically in the file of the person/location that I am researching for.

I relate to this post. I didn't document where I've been and ended up back over territory I've researched. Now, I make spreadsheets—graduating from Word Docs with names such as "Kaiser Deaths" or "Simpson and other questions!" I'm currently taking Robin's GRAAMS class, and I hope it will take me to the next level of documenting and organization.
