We have Tuttle in common although my connection is Deborah Tuttle, daughter of Elisha and Polly. She’s my 2nd great grandmother from Connecticut. I’m so glad you use WikiTree. Do you suppose we’re connected??

It's possible we are - but I ran into a bit of a roadblock after I realized that other researchers had mixed up my Samuel Tuttle with the Rev. Samuel Tuttle.

Yeah - that is not a line I've worked on a ton but that seems to be a common problem with colonial and earlier ancestors. How do you know that THAT person is YOUR person... sometimes I feel more like a detective than a genealogist!

Isn't that the truth! My go-to source is wills. Most will include names of children and possibly living siblings and their children, as well. With every third given the same name, it usually gives me at least enough information to cross the deceased off my possible list or move forward. Best of Luck!

Fabulous idea and one I'll be adding to my to-do list - thanks!

I like your focused approach and I really like that you've put out the names of your 16's. Please take it as a compliment when I copy your strategy. Maybe there are others researching the same surnames as mine. I wish I had something to offer you on your surnames.
